Restaurants

• Bay Chhnganh - Very nice pork and rice here. The pork is marinated so it's incredibly tasty. 

• Hana Kitchen - So good and so cheap. You can get a big, delicious plate of noodles here for US $2.50.  

• Heartprint Hub - Come because the food is great and stay because the organisation behind this place does amazing work in the community. We love the bowls - teriyaki chicken and sesame chicken are both fantastic, as is the gnocchi pesto. Plenty of veg/vegan options as well. 

• Jungle Burger - Hands down the best burgers in town. We love that the burgers come with a drink and some of the best chunky chips you will find in Siem Reap. 

• Krousar Café - A cosy cafe-style restaurant serving a mix of Khmer and western favourites. The lasagne is particularly noteworthy. They can also do meal plans and will cater to most dietary requirements with enough notice. 

• Lost City Pizza Society - Our favourite pizza place in Siem Reap. The service is great and the pizzas are delicious. We like the restaurant's ambiance as well. 

• New Leaf Eatery - This restaurant has delicious food and a very good range of vegan and vegetarian options. They can also cater for most other dietary requirements if you give them enough notice. 

• Nick Restaurant - Whether you're looking for a tasty chicken burger or Khmer steak with chunky chips, Nick Restaurant is an excellent choice. 

• Our Place - We love this place for the chilli con carne and the pies. They also do fantastic fish and chips. Prices are very reasonable. 

• Pasta La Vista Siem Reap - A great restaurant that serves mezze platters with unlimited pita bread. It's worth mentioning that the pita bread is made fresh in their pizza oven and is the size of a small child. 

• Sambo Khmer & Thai Restaurant - the food is delicious and the owner is an absolute delight. It's the best Thai in Siem Reap.

• Shen Kitchen - This is a bright, fun and modern take on Chinese food. Expect the classics with a twist in an air conditioned Instagram-worthy restaurant. 

• Soul Authentic Indian Restaurant - In our opinion, this is the best Indian restaurant in town. We only ever have it delivered, so can't speak for the dining in experience but the food is great. 

• Tevy's Place - Tevy's is a Siem Reap institution. Go there for excellent renditions of Khmer classics, and also try the ginger chicken and spicy chicken stir fries. 

• Try Me Restaurant - Friendly staff, delicious inexpensive food, and perhaps the comfiest dining chairs in Siem Reap. Go there for the pork ribs or chicken pad thai. Try Me kept us going during Covid - they were open the entire time. 

• Urban Tree Hut - Urban Tree has a lovely dining area out the back with shade and lots of greenery. They do the best lok lak in town in my opinion. Very reasonable pricing too. 

• VLT Bar & Cafe - Great Sunday roast and other specials depending on the day of the week. They even do bunny chow! Food is inexpensive and delicious. 

• Wild - Wild is a restaurant specialising in spring rolls. My favourite is the Ave Caesar which is a chicken caesar salad served as a fresh spring roll. You have to try them. In addition to spring rolls, they have a great cocktail and mocktail menu. 

Bars

• Angkor Village Hotel - This hotel has a lovely bar just inside the Street 26 entrance. You'll be surrounded by greenery and beautiful old furniture. Definitely worth a visit for a high end cocktail once in a while. 

• Asana Old Wooden House Cocktail Bar - This is a deserving pit stop if you are walking around the Pub Street area. It's a bar set in an old wooden house. They have an interesting range of cocktails inspired by Cambodian ingredients. 

• Beatnik Speakeasy - Beatnik has been around a while and is a great place for people watching. You'll usually find a handful of expats here. Beatnik is about as close as we get to Pub Street. 

• Brothers - The Brothers is both a bar and a restaurant but given that we only really go there for drinks, I have put it in the bar category. It's open, breezy and cheap - we've had lots of meet-ups here over the years and it always delivers. 

• La Riviere d'Angkor Resort - La Riviere has an upstairs bar where you can look down on the street and river below. We sometimes drop in for a sundowner. If you are lucky, you can sometimes see hornbills resting in the large trees along the riverside. 

• Mex'd Up Bar and Restaurant - Great little bar in an excellent location for bar hopping. There's often a small expat crowd here so it's a good starting point to meet people. 

• Pomme Brewhouse & Kitchen - Pomme is a great place to go for a drink or two. They have a large shady garden and lots of undercover seating as well. Pomme hosts lots of expat events and you're always sure to meet nice people here. 

• Royal Crown Hotel Sky Bar - This is a great bar where you can see the sunset and enjoy a view across Siem Reap's roofline. There's a good happy hour but check with them for details.

• Sojourner Bar and Garden - An expat-run bar that holds regular events. It's a quiet and cosy spot where you can enjoy a drink and a chat. It has a very nice laid-back vibe. 

• Ubuntu Sports Bar & Grill - Great friendly bar on the non-Pub Street side of town. You'll find big screens and all the sports you can handle. 

• Viva Angkor - This is the smaller of the two Viva bars in Siem Reap. We prefer the location of this one and often stop in for a beer. It is also a restaurant but we don't eat here very often.

• Arom Caffe - A lovely garden cafe by the river just south of Road 60. There are lots of big trees and young locals hanging out.

• Chesda Restaurant & Coffee - It's a little out of town but worth the effort. There is a US $2 entry fee that is redeemable on food and drink. They have this in place because the place is so beautiful that people want to enter just to take photos. You won't be disappointed. 

• Gray Area - This place has a modern industrial aesthetic and is the first of its kind in Siem Reap. Only visit if you are a super cool cat. 

• MLU Kitchen & Cafe Siem Reap - This is a lovely cafe with a garden setting. It's tucked away down a little lane and you really do feel like you have discovered something special when you come here. 

• Muffin Man - The lentil salad is amazing and the pies are very good too. But it's really about the cakes and they deliver. We particularly like the cheesecakes. 

• Pka Prey Angkor Coffee - A large, open-air coffee shop with the most incredible tropical gardens. You could easily combine this lovely place with a visit to the Apopo Hero Rats or on you way back to town after visiting the temples. 

• Romsai Cafe & Bar - locally owned cafe with a nice big garden out the back. Prices are good and coffee is delicious. 

• Sbov Cafe - Sbov is a cute little cafe that is very popular with young locals. They serve a nice orange coffee and all drinks come with a reusable drink holder. 

• Summer Coffee & Bakery - Lovely local cafe with a great range of drinks. There's a big garden area and also an air conditioned section. Worth a look if you are in the area. 

• Temple Coffee & Bakery - Temple is a huge air conditioned cafe that has a range of different seating options. There are plenty of power outlets and it has a very relaxed vibe. 

• Phsar Chas (Old Market) - Siem Reap's most central market is a buzz of activity. It is very much a tourist destination so expect higher prices here. 

• Phsar Chreav - Chreav market is a little further out from the town centre. It's a great place to visit if you want to see a local market that doesn't cater to tourists at all. 

• Phsar Deihoy - This small market lines either side of the road for a couple of blocks. It's easy to ride along and stop in when you see something you want. There is good fruit and veg available here. 

• Phsar Deum Kralanh - This is a busy market on the north side of town. The main market building is big, but the streets surrounding it are where the good stuff is. 

• Phsar Kraom - Phsar Kraom is a big market that spills out into the surrounding streets. You can find lots of fresh fruit and veg as well as excellent meat and eggs. 

• Phsar Leu Thom Tmei - Phsar Leu is Siem Reap's biggest market. It has a fantastic variety of goods on offer but you have to park in the designated areas and pay a fee (usually 1,000 riel). This makes it less convenient for a quick drop in, but great if you want to browse or visit The Piles at the back of the market. There is a traditional Chinese medicine shop in the south east corner called Nhuk Fat traditional Chinese medicine store. 

• Phsar Samaki Huy Keang - This market is great for a quick fruit and veg shop. It's easy to park and you can be in and out with little fuss. The rear section is wholesale and interesting to visit. 

• AAA Supermarket - This is a good backup supermarket when youve tried the others and can't find what you need. If you live in the area it would be handy but not as good as the Angkor Markets. 

• Angkor Market I, Road 6 - The oldest member of the Angkor Market franchise, this place has a good variety section upstairs which is accessible either by stairs or an escalator. 

• Angkor Market II, Museum - The second Angkor Market to open is spread across two levels and has an escalator and a lift. The pet section upstairs is very good. 

• Angkor Market III, Sivutha - The newest of the three Angkor Markets, this one is spread over three levels. Parking is less convenient and shopping across the three levels is a little frustrating. It's lovely and modern, though. 

• Angkor Mini Mart - The smallest of the Angkor Market group, this one still has most of the things you will need on a daily basis. The variety section is a lot smaller. 

• Chao Sang Hok Superstore I - This is an old school supermarket with tall shelves packed in tightly. The upstairs is a bit of an unexpected treasure trove of homewares, in particular brushware. 

• Chao Sang Hok Superstore II - The newer Chao Sang Hok, this supermarket is great as it's all on one level. There is an interesting section off to the left hand side where they have lots of pet and garden supplies. 

• Damnak Supermarket - This is a nice modern supermarket. It's not as big as the Angkor Markets, but it has an amazing range of Korean skin care and hair care items - worth a visit if you are looking for those. 

• Lucky Supermarket - New branch of Lucky on Road 6, this supermarket is bigger than it appears from the outside. It has a little seating area to the side if you need to stop in the shade with a cool drink.

• Hong Kong Shop - Hong Kong Shop has a wide range of cables, USB fans, accessories, stationery, bags, makeup, soft toys, in fact it's such a weird mix of items that you should visit for yourself to see what they have. 

• MI-A Japanese Products - Another shop that constantly looks to be on the verge of closing. It has some good stuff, and is worth a look if there's something in particular you are after. They have a good range of magnifying reading glasses in different strengths. Everything is $2. 

• Simple Stationery - Don't be fooled by the name. This place sells much more than stationery. They have electronics, exercise equipment, bicycle maintenance products and so much more. Really worth a browse. 

• Sofa Manufacturer - We had a very large sectional lounge made to our specifications here. It was US $440, but a smaller one would be considerably cheaper. Visit in person and take drawings and photos of what you are looking for. 

• TyTy Mart - This place should be on your list if you are setting up an apartment. They have most of what you will need, the items are priced, and you won't find cheaper. It's a big shop and it can get warm in there. At particular times of the day it is very busy with children from the nearby schools. 

• Furniture Den - Secondhand furniture sourced from businesses liquidating. They can also custom make simple tables, benches and shelves if you want a certain size.

• Repeat Secondhand Fashion - Wonderful little shop packed full of a fun, curated mix of gently used clothes. New stock arrives weekly and you never know what you might find. 

• Sakura Recycle Shop Japan - west Siem Reap branch - Sakura is a chain of stores in Cambodia selling second hand items from Japan. The larger of the two Sakura shops in Siem Reap, this one often has promotions where everything is 50% off. It's hit and miss, and they play blaring loud music, but that's half of the fun. 

• Sakura Recycle Shop Japan - east Siem Reap branch - This branch of Sakura sees less traffic than the larger one west of the river. It has more clothes than homewares. 

• The Piles @ Phsar Leu - The Piles are great to visit. So called because they are mounds of second hand clothes that arrive in bales. The amount of clothing on offer here is staggering but you have to be prepared to rummage and stand your ground! 

• Thrift Up @ Mex'd Up - Situated above Mex'd Up, you'll find a cute little store with a nicely edited range of clothing.  

• Angkor Fitness - a large space divided into different zones. It's a fantastic facility with clean, modern equipment, and a great place to socialise.

• Angkor Muscle Gym - This is a local gym that charges US $1 per visit so it's very affordable. They have treadmills but you have to pay extra to use them. There is a heap of equipment in this gym - some of it quite new and some that has been there a while. Popular with locals, it can get very busy in the evenings. 

• Any Happy Gym - Great local-style gym that will cost you 3000 riel or US $0.75 per visit. There is no air conditioning and the equipment isn't new, but it gets the job done. 

• Bulldogs Fitness Center - Situated within the Rose Apple Square complex, this is a great, fully air conditioned gym with enough equipment to keep most people happy. It's quite expensive, but if you live in the complex it is covered in your rent. 

• Meru Performance Center - A very modern gym that even has facial recognition technology. It's fully air conditioned and the facilities are high end. It's a little to the north of town and is expensive. 

• Play In Padel & Pickleball - Newly opened in 2026, lot of people seem to enjoy padel and pickleball, so it should do well. 

• Royal Sports Club - This is a big complex with a pool, various courts, a large gym, and much more. Its location might be inconvenient if you live on the other side of town, but if you life closeby, you could visit daily and enjoy what it has to offer. 

• Siem Reap Fit - This is a local gym but more expensive than Angkor Muscle Gym or Any Happy Gym. It's 6000 riel or US $1.50 per visit. Equipment is ok, but of a similar standard as the other local places. 

Medical clinics & hospitals

• Angkor Japan Friendship International Hospital - This is a good hospital. The downside is that it's a long way from the town centre, so if it's an emergency or you don't fancy travelling this far, you might be better with one of the options in town. This hospital now also has an ENT department. 

• Angkor Sante Hospital - This is a small hospital mostly used by locals. It has a good reputation and a number of well-respected doctors work from here in additon to their rooms. 

• Intercare Medical Center - Opened in 2026, this is an international-standard clinic in the centre of town. Expect service offerings to grow over the next couple of years. 

• Neak Tep Hospital - A solid choice for the standard things like dengue, food poisoning, typhoid, etc. They have a lab so pathology results are returned very quickly. There's also a pharmacy onsite so it's a one stop shop, but the pharmacy is expensive. There is a price board in the reception area so they are very up front with their fees. 

• Prasat Keo Medical Laboratory - This is the best place to come for vaccinations and blood tests. The doctor will take the blood himself and send you the results as soon as he has processed them. 

• Royal Angkor International Hospital - This is probably the most expensive medical facility in Siem Reap. They have specialists in a number of fields that you can't find elsewhere in Siem Reap. 

Specialists

• Dr Chea Vuthy, dermatologist - Dr Vuthy runs his clinic from Angkor Thom Pharmacy. He is a great dermatologist who will perform small surgeries on site. There is no appointment system, simply arrive and take a number.

• Dr Chen Narong, cardiologist - Dr Chen is an excellent cardiologist. This is the location of his rooms and he has a pharmacy on site as well. He also works from Angkor Sante Hospital. 

• Dr Khauv Phara, ophthalmologist - Dr Khauv Phara is a trusted opthamologist in Siem Reap.  

• Dr Rith Veasna, dermatologist - Dr Rith Veasna is a dermatologist with a well-equipped clinic. She does cosmetic procedures as well as skin cancer checks, and treatment of skin disorders. 

Dental

• Master Dental Clinic - probably the most commonly recommended dental clinic in Siem Reap. This dental clinic offers services from a simple clean to root canals and aesthetic treatments like whitening and straightening.

• Stunning Dental Clinic - clean, new and modern facilities coupled with knowledgeable and skilled staff make this a solid choice for dental needs in Siem Reap.

• Pachem Dental Clinic - this clinic is known for gentle and kind dentists who will make the experience as comfortable as possible.

Pharmacies

• Angkor Thom Pharmacy & dermatology - This is a well-stocked pharmacy but what sets it apart is that Dr Vuthy, a dermatologist, works from here at certain times during the week. It's best to visit and ask when he is available. 

• Our Pharmacy (Wat Bo) - Our Pharmacy is a chain with many stores across Siem Reap. Look for the green and black sign. Their prices are consistent and very fair. The turnover is high, so it is likely that aything you buy here will be within date. 

• Pharmacy Kravvan and Skincare - The woman who runs this pharmacy is very knowledgable and is a good first point of contact for minor ailments. 

Traditional Chinese Medicine

• An Xin Tang Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic - This place is well known in Siem Reap for acupuncture and other traditional treatments.

• Nhuk Fat Traditional Chinese Medicine store - This TCM store has been in operation for a long time. It is located just behind Psar Leu on National Road 6.

• Cam Smile Visa Service - A good option to extend your visa in Siem Reap. 

• Easy Travel & Tours - Tried and tested, Easy Travel always give good service and will look after you well. 

• Khmer Fly Center - A good option to extend your visa in Siem Reap. 

• Animal Mama Siem Reap - Animal Mama is very well-respected vet surgery in Siem Reap. The staff are lovely and your pet will receive very good care. 

• Siem Reap Veterinary Care - A great team of vets and handy if you live in this part of town. 

• Lava Pet House - Lava Pet House is a pet store where you can buy food and lots of other accessories. 

• Angkor Vet Clinic - This is a great clinic and one of the vets has extensive experience in bringing pets from Cambodia to other countries. 

• Angkor Pet Siem Reap - This store has a good range of pet foods and other accessories. 

• SR Vet Clinic - This is a locally run vet clinic. The prices here might be lower than other clinics. 

• Club House Pet Playground & Cafe - Great place to bring your dog, particularly if you are concerned about street dogs interacting with your pup. They have a dog pool and plenty of space for off-leash play.
